Happy Sheep Make Cosier Wool

With winter here, why not keep warm with Vacht Van Vilt’s handmade wool rugs and blankets, all ethically sourced from happy sheep!

Natural fibres provide warmth and comfort in winter

Each year there comes a time when all sheep must be sheared. The Dutchmen from Vacht Van Vilt then make a visit local farmers, to collect then process all this excess wool with a felting technique that makes leather-free carpets and blankets. Personal contact with the animals is paramount for the team, who hold the happiness of these sheep very closely to their hearts.

Carpets from Vacht Van Vilt are completely leather free!

Often the thermal wool of the sheep is no longer used and becomes waste - such a misuse of natural resources!

In quite a simple procedure, the two founders of the textile label collect, clean and fleece the wool. Each final piece is provided with an individual number and stamp, making every carpet unique. The back of the carpets are made of felt and provide to customers a completely leather-free product!
