Witek Golik

Since their graduation in 2015, Golik and Witek have become well-acquainted with the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Design after uniting forces to create design solutions that stand for emotion as well as sensual qualities.

Textiles give a sense of feeling to a room, making it paramount one should ensure the experience with them is a pleasing one. Witek and Golik demonstrate exactly how senses play a significant role in their interpretation of design.

For their first textile collection collaborating with Danish label Nomess Copenhagen, they wanted to design textiles for the everyday. Textiles that were attractive due to their appearance whilst bringing a completely new experience to the home. Nomess is a brand that pioneers new and modern materials and product details, making it a perfect combination for the two parties.

The current collection of Witek Golik is intended to stimulate and linger - it’s hard not to be inspired by a softness or the way light can break on a special surface.

The memory cushions are a perfect example of how to create a special feeling, physically in this case as well as visually. Where usually the only option for cushions are flat, smooth surfaces, stimulation to our senses, according to Witek Golik, is the ultimate joy. The colours of the pillows play half the role in this with their haptic and strong expression. The material then consists of an embroidered memory foam and a further knitted fabric, resulting in the touch of a cushion truly creating a doubly sensual surprise.
