French photographer Fred Guillaud is known for his visually sophisticated images depicting bland city scenes that cast spells difficult to escape.
Guillaud has lived in Barcelona for 17 years, teaching and working as an architect and photographer. His urban photo series, which he produces exclusively analogously, are impressive through their strong compositions and contrasting colour presentations. The starting point is often the architecture - mundane sceneries with high visual appeal. In some pictures he refers to individual people in order to give the presentation a social context. The result are photos full of understanding and light.
